Pokemon Ace Detectives. Case 1: Picking Up the Pieces

Pokemon Ace Detectives

Welcome one and all to Pheonix Wright meets Pokemon (essentially). In this roleplay, you will tackle cases in two phases. The first phase is investigation. This is where you get to meet all of those wonderful 10-18 year olds on their quest to be the best, while trying to save the world. This is the exciting, Looker part. Gather evidence to find out what happened, how it happened, who was there, and what is going on now. The next phase is the trial, where you have to prove these theories in court and convince the judge.

Rules: All those regular ones of HS, but large emphasis on NO metagaming (knowing what your character will not). This will be especially for when the group may split up

Info: In this RP, your character will not have any Pokemon to begin with. At 10 years old, you went to law school or something to save the world, rather than become a champion. As a result, you have a skillset, which is the first of the two special parts of the character application in this RP, the second being your Agency Affiliation.

The skillset is, in essence, your character's profession. The big 3 would be lawyer, detective, or cop. But it can be anything. Are you an inventor and able to study devices? A Professor studying Pokemon? A chemist able to study and enhance the photo evidence you receive? This part is really open and will mean a lot in the field, detective or not.

Your character's Agency Affiliation is who they work through. You don't have to work for the International Police, or anyone really, but this is how your characters may know one another before the RP and how they may be addressed as a group from case to case. For Case 1, you may be part of no agency, the IP, or The Looker Bureau. After that, things can get more open when your character is more experienced.

List of Cases:
  • Case 1: Picking Up The Pieces
CASE 1: Picking Up The Pieces (Hoenn Region)

File: International Police member, codename: Looker, has been found washed up ashore at the Battle Resort in the Hoenn region. He has no memory of who he was and he has only thought he has a big mission to perform. The IP is letting him rest, in hopes he will recover, and must now investigate how this came to happen. Looker was on a boat to reach Mossdeep City, or Lilycove City and clearly did not make it there. He was last detaining a Team Flare scientist by the name of Xerosic on report. Find out what happened and bring justice if needed.

Application: NOTE: Case 1 needs at least 1 lawyer and 1 detective part of the International Police at the start

Gender:
Age: (15+)

Skillset: Sam has powerful deductive reasoning skill s that let him solve complex puzzles, and crack complicated conundrums.!
Agency Affiliation: Sam is an private investigator who works for hire.
Backstory: Sam seemed to appear out of nowhere one day. His region of origin is unknown but currently works in the Hoenn region. He learned about mega evolution from a man named Steven Stone. Sam never tried to challenge the pokemon league as it didn't seem too important to him. Sam spends a great deal of time in libraries simply learning about the world he lives in.
Other: Sam is an expert on the extraterrestrial, as well as the legends and secrets of the world. Bassically, if there's "somethin bigger goin on here," he knows what it is. He knows about mega evolution, and several legendaries and their history.

OOC: Alright, so I've been waiting for a new RP to jump in on, so why not. Besides, this looks pretty fun!

Name: Amelia Loneheart
Gender: Female
Age: 21
Appearance:
Erin.jpg

Skillset: Lawyer
Agency Affiliation: The Looker Bureau
Backstory: Brought up in a family of cops, she was born to be an officer of the law. She studied at Harvard (Or whatever big-name law school exists in Pokemon- I can't believe that sentence just happened) for a few years, and graduated top of her class. Natalie can be prone to get in trouble, as she will often try to do the detectives work for them. Until recently, she had worked at another law firm until being offered a job at The Looker Bureau; and offer which she could not refuse. She's been there about a year now.

Name: Sukai (Kai for short)
Gender:Male
Age: 16
Appearance: Doesn't mind a suit and tie, but you'll never catch him without his sneakers.
Skillset: Investigator
Agency Affiliation: unaffiliated

Backstory:Like most kids,Sukai wanted to be the very best, the Pokemon champion. But after his first year or so as a trainer decided to follow in the footsteps of his father, who works in the International Police. He was placed into an advanced school, where he learned for 5 years about the demands of justice. Now he is trying to find what agency he wishes to join, starting with the IP. (I figured that if its legal to be on your own at 10, than 16 would grant more opportunity. I'll change the age If needed)

Other: He is terrified of Bennete. He's also an EX-Trainer. He knows his facts about Pokemon and what they can do. He's the guy to tell whether a blast was from flamethrower or Blast Burn.

ooc: Accepted Kai. I think this is all we'll have for a bit for applications, so let's start now and just know anyone searching this RP, that apps are always open.

Private Quinn looked at the case report. He hadn't known Looker personally, but he was well known in the IP. Losing a global asset like that was a huge blow to the organization. He was assigned to the case, and figured his first stop should be Mossdeep City. Aside from Ever Grande, it was the closest to the boat Looker took. It was also where some information about a Pokemon in space was leaked recently by a known news crew for battling trainers on the road. He looked to his companion, Seth Shield, in the airplane. Seth had short black hair and hazel eyes with a tan suit and black pants. Formal. Mr. Shield was the lawyer the IP assigned in case any justice needed to be brought. He had called Amelia in the Kalos region to meet them in Mossdeep a few weeks ago, because Looker founded the bureau she worked at as the head lawyer to. He wanted to see what promise Looker's pupils' pupils could do. Seth told Quinn that if court was needed, he'd serve as the assistant, rather than the main lawyer. Both men were not quite sure what they'd find. Looker had always been a top secret agent, with him going down, anything was possible.

Sam was in the Mossdeep Space Center lobby, looking at all of the facts of the program, and satellites, remembering vividly when the TV showed what had to be Deyoxis before capture. The center didn't seem to admit they had footage of the event at all, a fact he found most peculiar. No mention of anything that might suggest how Rayquaza seemed to have Mega Evolved either. According to Steven, who lived here, there has to be a stone to activate Mega Evolution that is absorbed into the Pokemon until they leave mega evolution. Disturbing his thoughts, he heard the roar of a plane in the distance.

Amelia was waiting in Mossdeep City. She had actually been there a few days early, to ensure any possible flight delays wouldn't be an issue for meeting the lawyer and detective from the IP. They weren't going to meet her for another hour or so, but she could go to the meeting place early, or maybe see some of the sights the town had to offer first before she'd be on business only.

Kai was in Mossdeep City to talk with the new gym leader. They were a duo, but they were also said to have psychic powers. While waiting to see what organization to join, he thought he'd stop by a city he last visited 5 years ago and see some advise. A bit of nostalgia, and some future preparation at the same time. The city had really quite changed over the years.

Sam:

I glanced outside to see the plane flying overhead to see where it might be landing.

The plane was going towards the Mossdeep City Airport. It was smaller than normal ones, likely a private plane rather than a public one.

POV: Amelia decided to show up to the meeting place early. She was excited to receive the case from Seth; Looker had been the one to hire her, and she felt like she owed him something. Amelia clutched her briefcase as she headed off to the airport. Opening the case file, she reviewed some of the finer details before the others arrived.

POV: Kai continued his walk to the gym. The city had changed quite a lot, but the peoples love for Pokemon had stayed. He wondered what the new gym leader, er gym leader duo, would be like. As his thoughts buzzed, he found himself entering the front doors.
